Understanding enlistment transfers

When a Meridian Enterprise user enlists a site for documents, the following steps are performed:

  1. Schedule: Document transfer is scheduled by registering it in a Meridian Enterprise table as shown in the following figure.
  2. Export: The Meridian Enterprise export processor (running as a Windows scheduled task) reads the record in the table, creates a briefcase, and exports the document data into the briefcase.
  3. WAN Transfer: The GCF transfer processor transfers the briefcase across the WAN using the configured protocol.
  4. Import: At the collaborating sites, the Meridian Enterprise import processor (also running as a Windows scheduled task), detects the received briefcase and imports its contents into the destination vault.
